A Look At Your Faith
May- 2004 Article 5-2
Have you ever wondered how it would be to try to solve a mystery all your life? Pretty damn frustrating indeed
Youd probably get side tracked a few times
Well this is pretty much how spiritualism has been, not to mention religion as a whole!
Not to single out any particular religion or spiritual practice, in finding out the Truth would put millions out of business! I know about right now you could think of a few large institutions that would plummet so badly it would affect the lives around the world and you wonder would it just be better to live a lie instead
It is a my statement to say that when you have put so much into your spiritual growth you should reap what you sow as the saying goes else its being done incorrectly your efforts and practice should be redirected
.its just that simple. One man cannot lead another if HE himself has not been there
To say that were all created equal only means to have been given life and Free Will. The problem with this world to day is only everyone thinks that they are right and all of us are so different. Many would argue with me and direct the blame to God and say that hes not ready for things to change, but this would contradict the Free Will that we all know we have that we havent bothered to make things right.
It is important for you to take hold of your life in every way. Do not waste your time with religious practices of any sorts without connecting with your spiritual being. Too many times, people stay within their religions, church or faiths without growing. Occultist, New Age followers are the same as well
Set goals for yourself like you do anything. Many religions today have rules from over 200 years ago without regard or change.
Below are some simple suggestions/questions to help you establish goals/direction for yourself:
- Ask yourself why this faith or religion (see my article on Spiritual Genealogy)
- If there are certain rules that you must adhere to within your faith can you abide by them
if not why? If not, which faith would fit more your life style?
- Are you an active practitioner or spectator of your faith? If you are a spectator are you learning anything?
- Understand your faith. You cannot be an effective follower nor leader if you do not understand why, how, when and what.
- Do you find your self in unison with the teaching of your elder/mentor/leader or drifting off in your mind to making things differently? If so is there another mentor you could possibly learn under?
- How does your leaders life look? Is he or she just for show or do they live by their word and practice? (No one is perfect but to the best example as possible)
- Is your place of faith looking to change for truth or stay for tradition?
- Is your faith tolerant of outsiders such as a new Friend, family member or spouse?
- How does your place of faith support you in time of need?
- Does your place of faith require you to sacrifice your needs and desires, and loved ones? Sacrifice is almost in every element of most faiths but to sacrifice everything and everyone
is not living life to experience the trials and fruits of our Free Will
you will have enough time on the other side for some degree of alienation if this is what will be handed to you by your creator.
- Give yourself goals of attainment, both spiritually and physically. If this faith that you practice is for you your attainment will be apparent in both realms.
Spiritual growth is a journey. If you feel that the journey that you have traveled has not fulfilled your soul then perhaps it is time to take a different course (see my article on Creating Power Through Change). Much can be learned from other faiths from many angles. One must keep in mind that most faiths have a common denominator, Our Creator in which they are aiming to connect to. With this in focus it is the Truth that we all seek
the end of this very long movie in life that so many faiths have different projected endings to.
